The new truck

We haven't even had the new truck a week yet, and it broke down on Chance today. Not a good sign. He's been so happy cuz he can haul and haul and it barely strains the truck if at all. Now, it just died. The dealership has taken it back... I am hoping it has something to do with a part on the engine. It is covered for 100,000 miles since it's a diesel. However, no extended warranty...we could barely afford the truck. So...we are praying it's something minor. A guy Chance knows say it's sounds like it could be a cam (sp?) sensor but that is unusual for a truck that young. I have no idea what that means... just want it to be something they will fix without charging us an arm and a leg.

Tonite I come home and amidst the normal evening activities, I try to call Mom and Dad to tell them about the truck. They don't answer so I assume they are not home or on the phone. At almost 8:30 I try back and they still are not answering. I call the cell phone and there they are at Pioneer Pies having dinner with many family members because my Uncle Phil and Aunt Jackie from Tennessee are in town. Well does anyone call me??? NOOOOOOOO. I would have liked to visit with every one but Mom thought we wouldn't have time to get there. I had to settle for a hello over the phone. I guess Tristan needed to get to bed on time anyway. But it would have been nice to have some of that pie. Now I'll have to go there for lunch...it won't be out of my head any time soon.

I finally sent the official birthday party email. Hope I made sense. Taylor can hardly wait until we open the pool. She is working on Chance to get it going sooner, but I am not sure if time will allow. I am taking her to get her new bathing suit this weekend. We are going to check out Marshall's. The grand opening was today. I've not ever been in one so I hope we can find something cool. I need to buy a new outfit for our commencement ceremony on the 12th. So of course I will have to shop for me as well. ;o) Luckily, Chance has no desire to go and that means I can just get what I want without pressure. Will just have to face the music when I return! LOL

I am very excited that on Saturday an exterminator is coming to get rid of all these @#^%$#%%#$@ ants that have overtaken our house little by little since we moved in. I hate those little things with such a passion...can't even begin to tell you how much. But, the nice man is coming and he's going to show them who owns this house! LOL We will be frantically trying to move all our clutter away from the walls. This will be a neat trick as this house is so small the only free wall space we have is in the hallway. Our night is cut out for us tomorrow! The nice exterminator man will soon become my hero if these little pests go away quickly. He is going to come visit me every other month for a year and he will get homemade cookies if these ants stay away.

I better go get some rest. Busy day tomorrow. Could use some reading time. My library books are way overdue and I still am not finished with my Patricia Cornwell. I read two other books while reading this one and they took all my time as they were a tad more interesting. I can't leave a book unfinished, so I must get busy.

Later dudes.

P.S. Chara, have you read Iris Johannsen? I really like her books. Her series on a character named Eve Duncan is neat...she's a forensic sculptor who takes skulls and creates a sculpture of the victim for identification. It's pretty cool. I haven't read too many of her non-Eve Duncan books but I plan to. Thought you might like them since you like Dean.

Brandee-
Thanks for the recommendation- I like to find new authors who put a lot of thought and fact into their work. I like Greg Iles- if you haven't read any of his...

Same for me. I will check him out next time I go to the library.
