Chance added a small pond to our backyard just beside the pool. Yesterday, Tristan came running in and said, "Mama there's frogs in the water." So I went out there and our backyard garden frogs had decided to take a swim. However, since the pond is not finished, they had no way to get out. One was kicking his little legs on the side trying to get out. I helped him out and he hopped away. The other frog, kept diving way down. He didn't want me to touch him. I finally got him out too. He didn't know he would be tired soon. And then I found the third at the very bottom. He had his eyes closed and looked like he was dead. I was very sad. When I reached in to get him, he moved some. I got him out and he hopped away a little more slowly than the others. He has lost all his energy trying to get out. So now we have to get some lily pads for them. I have been checking every 5 minutes like a mother does when their baby first goes out to play without her. I so do not want to find them dead in there. I hope they wait until we can get it fixed up. So far, they haven't been brave enough to go back. I hope they will enjoy it when we get the lily pads.
I just wanted to say I felt like I did a good deed saving the little frog. I hope he was glad I did.

On the Road Again
Finally, we got Tristan a new battery for his tractor. He's not been able to drive for a couple of months now. He is so happy. I don't have a new picture but here is a picture of him at Christmas time when he first got it. His smile is even bigger today.

Taylor got her 7th grade yearbook. Man, I wish they made them like that when I was her age. It's all color and has very clear pictures. Even though she's not really into school, she, Ashley and their friend Alyssa, got their picture highlighted in the 7th grade section. Those kids are so funny - some look like they are in high school and some look like they are 6 years old. We finally get to see her "boyfriends". Since she's had a different one each week, a whole page could've been dedicated just to that. LOL I wish I had some new pictures of her to post, but I don't have any at this time. Will try to get some up soon.
I don't really have much to say. I survived our commencement at work on Friday nite. I had to get 8 people to work as marshals and train them to do their jobs. They all did a wonderful job, thank goodness, but my professional people showed up a wee bit toasty. They were all giggly and silly. On the one hand, I was wishing I felt as good as they did, but on the other, I knew just how wrong it was. I am just so relieved to have the most stressful day of my year out of the way until next May. Woo Hoo!
Work royally sucks right now. There are not enough hours in the day to get it all done. I'm am going to be very gray very soon. I think I need to highlight again...but not with blonde. Will pick a different color so it won't be mistaken for gray.
Well I'm very tired. I'm still trying to recoup from last week. Chance is watching something very boring on TV so I guess I'll have to read a bit before I pass out. Hopefully, next time I'll have something more profound to say. Until then...

Birthday pictures
Opening a present.
Caden was close by to help with the presents.
This was how I found Tristan and Chance when I came home from shopping today.
We had a great time with Ashley and Dustin. The boys continued their boxing match this morning. Tristan was very tuckered out from all the excitement. He wore several of his new outfits today. Chance took him out this evening to ride his bike. His tires have been out of air for a while...our air pump died and we've been lazy getting one. We borrowed Dad's. He was excited to ride and we were excited that he was pedaling instead of pushing it along with his feet. I've tried to post a picture but this darn thing won't let me. Guess I'm using up too much space. Will put it in the next post.
I forgot about my flat and we didn't have time to get the tire to Hibdon's. So now I have to go to work with the donut on my car. Lovely. Chance tells me I can't go very fast but I can go down the highway. Not sure how I'm going to do that. I'll need lots of extra time to get to work tomorrow. I am by myself half of the day with a group of 18 high school kids coming in to see me at 8:30. My morning is going to be busy.
Well guess I'll go. I don't have a whole lot to say tonight. Trying to settle in for the night. Adios all.

Oh and Blessings...
I am really tired and forgot some of what I wanted to write. I wanted to say that we are truly blessed. Tristan has so many people who care about him and love him, that they all came and crammed into this little house, even though it was rainy and ucky outside. Everyone one took such great care and thought into their gifts. When I sit back and ponder the crazy day, I realize that is what family is all about. Loving, caring, and being there for one another. All these same people drove all the way to Incredible Pizza (I will NEVER ask anyone to do that again) in November for Taylor's party. We stood for hours on end waiting on a table and then more to eat and play. Everyone probably couldn't wait to leave both uncomfortable situations, but they did stay and make the day special for our kids. Thanks and much love to all of you.

We Survived!
Today was the big day... Tristan's birthday party. It was supposed to be a pool party. We (should I say Chance) worked so hard to drain the pool and clean it out for the kids. He had to patch holes in the liner and everything. But alas, the weather was way too cool and rainy for the kids to swim. So, we had to cram 30 people in our little house. I had planned all these pool games but since the weather was bad I had to try to figure something else out. Didn't really have time but I bought these cute little bubble blower things to keep the little ones occupied. I didn't have enough for every kid and once they began playing with them, they ended up breaking. They did jump on the trampoline and then at one point, Logan stepped in some dog poo. It was cute - the boys would run inside the house in a line - biggest to littlest. Little Caden always came up in the rear, just in time for the door to shut. He never even realized how close he came to getting slammed. Luckily Dave was there and he caught the door each time. I bet that kid was passed out in the car before they got to the end of our street! :o) Overall I think they had an OK time even though we were crammed.
Dustin and Ashley are spending the night tonite. Tristan got some really cool Batman boxing gloves from Chad. This was perfect - he loves gloves of all kinds. He wears his daddy's work gloves or his winter gloves as often as he can. Well, he is tired and they (he and Dustin) were both wanting the gloves. So they were arguing. Dustin decided he didn't want to stay because he knew they were going to fight. Heather came to the rescue and stopped to get Dustin some gloves. He decided to stay after that. They have been having boxing matches all night. The even do the ding thing to get started. I have worried at how hard they hit each other but they both say they are OK. They are still up right now trying to have a match - I had them settle down and eat a little earlier. Now I think they are finally tuckered out and are laying in the floor with their gloves on watching cartoons.
Just a little while ago, when I went out to the freezer, I noticed my car has a flat. Not sure how that happened but I hope we can get it fixed tomorrow. We had so many things happen today... rain, cold, clogged up toilet, cat poop on the bed, sandwich party tray dived to the floor on the way home (we saved it - no food escaped), mom had a toothache, Taz had to go to the vet, and now a flat. Oh well, I guess something has to go wrong at events such as these.
Hopefully we'll get a good day of rest tomorrow. I still have many things to do and lots of laundry. I should get some work in, but I'll see how that goes. I am just so happy that we survived. I guess we will have another get together for the kids to swim when it warms up some more.
I am getting tired. Having a time getting these boys to wind down. My body is winding down fast. I hope they don't outlast me.
Cya next time.
