Chance added a small pond to our backyard just beside the pool. Yesterday, Tristan came running in and said, "Mama there's frogs in the water." So I went out there and our backyard garden frogs had decided to take a swim. However, since the pond is not finished, they had no way to get out. One was kicking his little legs on the side trying to get out. I helped him out and he hopped away. The other frog, kept diving way down. He didn't want me to touch him. I finally got him out too. He didn't know he would be tired soon. And then I found the third at the very bottom. He had his eyes closed and looked like he was dead. I was very sad. When I reached in to get him, he moved some. I got him out and he hopped away a little more slowly than the others. He has lost all his energy trying to get out. So now we have to get some lily pads for them. I have been checking every 5 minutes like a mother does when their baby first goes out to play without her. I so do not want to find them dead in there. I hope they wait until we can get it fixed up. So far, they haven't been brave enough to go back. I hope they will enjoy it when we get the lily pads.
I just wanted to say I felt like I did a good deed saving the little frog. I hope he was glad I did.
